Hard Evidence Project:
Assignment
1. Select an existing historically significant photograph with a main subject.
Remove the main subject. The image should still seem whole and well composed.
There should be no visible gaps created by your manipulation. You may only use
elements within this photograph to remove your subject.
Subject Matter
What makes an image historically significant? When an image is known to many,
how can your manipulation change its meaning? Is this a form of rewriting history?
What would you choose to rewrite? Why? How?
