I am sending materials in regards to the part-time faculty position for Art Instructor (Drawing I). Amy Green, a friend, colleague, and artist that shows at my gallery, forwarded the information about the possibility of a Saturday class in Drawing. I really enjoy teaching drawing and taught Drawing I last semester at Pierce College. I am completely ready to go with syllabus and curriculum as I just taught what should be a very similar class.

I have five years of teaching experience at the college level at both university and community colleges. I teach at two local community colleges: drawing, 2d design, 3d design, visual communications, and art appreciation at Pierce College and Digital Photography and Photoshop at College of the Canyons for the Graphics and Multimedia Department. I also currently teach part-time at Otis College of Art and Design where I teach a class called "Entrepreneurial Practices" which prepares senior's portfolios for presentation beyond art school. I have also taught part-time at USC in the Animation and Digital Arts division of the School of Cinema-Television (graduate level class to MFA students). I have given lectures and workshops at Otis, USC, Cal Arts, Emerson College, C-Level, and online for panel discussions.

As an artist my work takes the form of drawing, painting, sculpture, video and installation art. My intention in the production of all things is to make work about people, relationships, and politics through media, regardless of "new" or old definitions. My work is included in such venues as Monte Vista Gallery, LA; Me and You Variety Candy Gallery, LA; Park Projects Gallery, LA; Machine Gallery, LA; Rhizome; the Whitney ArtPort; Barnsdall Art Park, LA; Bodybuilder & Sportsman Gallery, Chicago; the Andrewshire Gallery, LA; White Box Gallery, LA; Centro Nacional de Artes (National Center for the Arts) San Salvador, El Salvador; LA Freewaves; and the Irish Museum of Modern Art.

I am also devoted to my work as a Gallery Director at Sea and Space Explorations (http://www.seaandspace.org). I founded Sea and Space this summer after separating from my business partner at Park Projects (http://www.myparkprojects.org), another gallery I co-founded in the summer of 2006 to support challenging contemporary art practices. The experience of creating a community for this kind of work is an invaluable experience that I wish to foster and share with my students.
